BMI Calculator

Body Mass Index estimates whether your weight is in a healthy range relative to your height.

About BMI

Body Mass Index (BMI) is a simple calculation using height and weight. The result places you in one of the WHO's standard categories:

BMI RangeCategory
Below 18.5Underweight
18.5 – 24.9Normal weight
25.0 – 29.9Overweight
30.0 – 34.9Obese (Class I)
35.0 – 39.9Obese (Class II)
40.0+Obese (Class III)

BMI is a useful screening tool but has limitations: it does not distinguish between muscle and fat, and very muscular individuals may register as overweight without having excess body fat.

Formula: BMI = weight (kg) / (height (m))²
